Welcome to a world of creativity and fun in our 8-week art class for children in grades K-6. Young artists will experiment with a world of artistic exploration with a variety of materials, styles, and finishes. Children will have the opportunity to learn the playful art of drawing, experimenting with thick and thin lines, crafting shapes with pencils and markers, and bringing leaf drawings to life. Discover the magic of color effects, where cool colors make warm hues pop, and engage in the whimsy of analogous color combinations using geometric shapes. Explore the fascinating world of watercolor, dive into the fun of collage portraits, paint delightful scenes inspired by dessert foods, experiment with pointillism, mono prints, and spin art, and conclude with bringing both real and imagined animals to life in lively scenes that seamlessly blend painting and line work. Join us for a creative and dynamic exploration that sparks the imagination of young artists in this engaging multimedia art class.
About the instructor: Amy Krimsier Sterling relocated to Nashville from New York City, where she earned an MA in Illustration from the Fashion Institute of Technology. Prior to this, she earned her BFA in Animation from the California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles. Amy creates visual art in a variety of mediums. Her work tells stories via printmaking, ceramics, paper, watercolor, acrylic and oil painting, and anything else she can get her hands on.

Kids Art Masters with Amie Pike | Grades 1-3 -

Young artists will learn about master artists in class to get inspiration for creating art masterpieces! Each class will focus on a different artist to learn various techniques that will wow family and friends. Materials used will include paint, watercolor, oil pastel, and collage.
