What does it take to create a workplace that is somewhere people want to work and customers want to visit? It has always been an important question, but in a post-pandemic world it has perhaps never been more important. On Tuesday, May 2, the Nashville Jewish Book Series, a program of the Gordon JCC, will address it.  Journalist and author Micheline Maynard, a contributing columnist at the Washington Post, will come to town to discuss her book, Satisfaction Guaranteed, How Zingerman’s Built a Corner Deli Into a Global Food Community. The book looks at the business philosophy and sustainability of Ann Arbor’s gem of a deli.

Joining the panel with Maynard will be three of Nashville’s star entrepreneurs: Dr. Jonathan Gluck of Gluck Orthodontics and Benjamin and Max Goldberg of Strategic Hospitality.

Leading the discussion will be local writer, journalist and NJBS committee co-chair, Margaret Littman. Together they will who will dive into the best practices and philosophy a business can design and grow from, amongst other impressions from the book.

Audience questions and participation will be welcomed.

Maynard will be available to sign copies of the book afterward. Books will be available for sale from Parnassus.

Tickets: $18
