NEW T’ai Chi| Mondays & Wednesdays | 8:15-9am & 9:15-10am | Starts September 6 | 45 minutes | Age 16+

The Gordon JCC is offering two T’ai Chi classes from Sept. 6 to Nov. 8, with Instructor Peter Hodes. Peter brings more than 27 years of practice to bear on his class. T’ai chi can result in improved balance, heightened agility, enhanced flexibility as well as more energy and stamina, lower blood pressure and reduced stress. Part of our Body Movement program, which includes Yoga and Pilates. The class is drop in, but we ask that people register their interest with Harriet.

NEW Krav Maga for Self-Defense  | Thursdays at 6pm | Starts August 24 | 60 minutes | Age 16+

NEW Self-Defense for Women | Thursdays at 7pm | Starts August 24 | 60 minutes | Age 16+ | Women only

Krav Maga (“contact combat” in Hebrew) was developed in the 1950s, combining the most effective techniques and philosophy from various martial arts and fight training. It was originally taught to the Israeli Army and instruction for civilians began in the late 70s.  Elements of Judo, Jiu-Jitsu, and more are included in Krav Maga instruction.

The Gordon JCC is offering two FREE classes (for members), each for  4-weeks starting August 24. Space is limited and advance registration is required. No special clothing or previous experience required. Suitable for all fitness levels. Also offering, a women’s only class – Great in pairs – mothers and daughters, good friends, aunts, and nieces.

NEW Boot Camp for Men & Women | Tuesdays & Thursdays 5:45pm | Starts July 18

This is interval training at its best with Danny Hirtler.  Meet downstairs in the cycle-fusion studio. Open to men AND women who want to take advantage of the fat-blasting, fitness-improving magic of intervals!  Tuesday’s class is devoted to strength, and Thursday’s class is focused on cardio.  45 to 60 minutes, depending on participants.  FREE to members and will be available on ClassPass and for a $10 fee to non-members.   No need to sign up in advance, just show up!


NEW From Core To The Floor | Thursdays at 12pm | Starts August 10

The class targets strength, balance, mobility, and flexibility. It incorporates a lot of leg work (glutes, hamstrings, quads, hips) and core work.  Originally designed for runners, this is a GREAT class for everyone!  Julie Thames, InnerStrength™ trainer, is the creator of and instructor for From Core to the Floor.  Certified as a trainer in 2015, Julie has honed her teaching skills with InnerStrength™, and we are thrilled to add her class to our schedule.
